Instead of canceling altogether, though, Northern California’s popular Pirates of Emerson has confirmed they’ll be returning this year with some major changes. A beloved Halloween attraction in the Bay Area, this year’s attraction will be a drive-thru experience. This way, you can get your spooks while staying safe and socially distant. Pleasanton's Pirates of Emerson is the ultimate Halloween theme park in Northern California. It returns this year as a terrifying drive-thru experience that scare enthusiasts definitely don't want to miss.

The 2020 season marks Pirates of Emerson's 29th year as NorCal's most popular haunted attraction. It opens for the year on October 1 and will run every weekend (Thursday through Sunday) until November 1.

This year's event is a drive-thru experience only. No pedestrians, motorcycles, bicycles, or RVs/motor homes will be admitted. The cost of admission is $94.99 and includes everybody in your vehicle (the maximum amount of passengers you can have is based on the legal limit of your vehicle.)

The experience will still take place at Alameda County Fairgrounds. In fact, this year's haunt will more than double in size in order to accommodate the car-friendly changes. This means the haunt will cover more than ten acres of the fairgrounds.

During the experience, attendees will remain in their cars at all times while tuned into the radio station soundtrack. You can expect to come across creepy scare actors, intricately designed sets, animatronics, and plenty of theatrics while making your way through the haunt.
