I miss going to the movies, don’t you? With “stay at home” orders still in effect, it’s hard to tell when movie theaters across our state will be able to reopen. West Wind Drive-In was just one of the hundreds of theaters that closed its doors after the order was initially put in effect, but they’ve since found a way to reopen and provide the public with some much-needed entertainment during this chaotic time. All patrons who attend must adhere to the social distancing guidelines they’ve put in place, so read up on the new rules the theater is implementing before you drive over to catch the next movie.
With most, if not all, of California's movie theaters closed for several weeks now, you may have started dreaming of the next time you can catch a new movie release. Although there's no telling when theaters will able to open up again, one drive-in theater has found a way for the show to go on.
West Wind Drive-In in Sacramento was closed for only a week before they decided to open back up again. However, they made sure to add some strict social distancing guidelines for patrons to follow so that the establishment can remain a safe place to visit.
First of all, patrons must stay in their cars at all times. Sitting outside of your car will not be allowed, so prepare to stay the entire movie inside of your vehicle.
Second, only one person is allowed in the restroom at a time with the exception of an adult with a child. And finally, concessions are closed, so don't forget to bring your own snacks and munchies to enjoy during the film.
As long as these guidelines are followed by everyone, the drive-in plans to remain open to the public. Currently, West Wind has double features planned every evening through Thursday. You can check out what's playing here .
During uncertain times like these, visiting the drive-in and enjoying a movie with the family delivers a much-needed sense of normalcy. Prices at the West Wind Drive-In remain the same: $7.95 for adults and $1.25 for children ages 5 to 11. Children 4 and under are free.
With so much changing on a dime nowadays, you'll want to keep up with any schedule changes and updates at the West Wind Drive-In Facebook page here . Catch a movie, breathe, and remember that we're all in this together!
