Northern California is full of colorful destinations to visit as the weather continues to warm up. From massive fields of wildflowers to vibrant public gardens, there’s always a place to immerse yourself in the state’s stunning natural beauty. However, there’s one destination that should definitely be on your list if you love lavender especially—and who doesn’t? This quaint little farm is home to mass amounts of lavender along with several other delightful surprises, so be sure to visit it this season!
Tucked away within the breathtaking scenic beauty of Placerville, Bluestone Meadow is a one-of-a-kind lavender farm that definitely belongs on your bucket list.
Bluestone Meadow was originally established back in 2009 from a portion of the historic Madden Ranch. The ranch itself had been around since 1919, but the area has been used for farming since as far back as the 1860s.
Today, Bluestone Meadow continues the farming traditions of this lovely region of Northern California. They grow pumpkins, Christmas trees, and lavender across their 20-acre farm, and it's become a special place to spend time with family and friends.
Bluestone Meadow mostly functions as an event venue for weddings and other special occasions. However, they are open to the public during the last two weekends of June for their 2019 Lavender Festival. During this time, the public is welcome to stop by and pick some gorgeous lavender!
The festival is free to attend and will include live music, picnic areas, train rides, and free lavender seminars. Most importantly, the festival occurs during English Lavender's peak bloom, so the farm is completely taken over by the incredible smell of fresh lavender. There's truly no better way to spend a beautiful, sunshine-filled day.
If you can't make it for the annual Lavender Festival, you can always swing by during select weekends in October. This is when the fall bloom of some of the lavender occurs, and you'll get a second chance to pick some up. Be sure to say hello to the alpacas!
For a day filled with fun activities, plenty of laughter, and jaw-dropping beauty, make plans to visit Bluestone Meadow the weekends of June 22-23, and June 29-30. The farm will be open from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm every day, and you definitely will want to be there.
Visit Bluestone Meadow at 2025 Carson Rd, Placerville, CA 95667.
Will you be visiting this lavender farm once it opens to the public? This place is simply gorgeous. Don’t worry if you can’t make it. You can always pop on over to this Gorgeous Flower Farm In Northern California That Will Take Your Breath Away anytime you’d like!
