It could be with music, at an entertainment venue, or even a clothing store. But here we’re talking about classic down-home diners in Northern California that have stood the test of time, serving up some of the best comfort food that makes you feel like you’re a local who is always welcomed “home.”
1. Historic Hiouchi Café, Crescent City
The Historic Hiouchi Café is located at 2095 Highway 199. Serving what they have deemed the "Best Breakfast In The County." The café is a Crescent City area favorite open for breakfast and lunch Sundays through Thursdays, adding additional hours for dinner on Friday and Saturday nights.

Other favs here include the chicken fingers, potato skins, patty melts, grilled buffalo wings, what they call their "World Famous Burgers," French dip sandwich, and of course, milkshakes. Breakfast, served anytime, features linguica and eggs, French toast, and pancakes. And if there’s room, don’t forget dessert: Georgia Peach Pie, Maui Pineapple Crisp, or their famous apple pie, just to name a few.

3. Pancake Circus - Sacramento
The Pancake Circus is located at 2101 Broadway and is only open for breakfast and lunch.
