Almost every community has that one house that goes all out during the holiday season. You know the one. It probably has a plethora of inflatable Christmas-themed decor in the front lawn, more strings of light than you can count, and an endless playlist of holiday tunes to go with it. They are the types of houses that become sort of mini-attractions. People flock to them in the days leading up to Christmas.
The owners of these houses are seen as heroes, as they should be. What else would you call someone who creates holiday cheer in the community free of charge? These types of houses can be found everywhere, but the best of the best is featured below. We don’t know how many more years this Christmas house will be available to the public, so make this the year that you see it for yourself!
Hiding out in the community of Novato is a family's house that is lovingly referred to as "The Christmas House" by locals. The nickname is fitting, considering the fact that every year this one-story wood frame home transforms into a Christmas wonderland.
Edmundo Rombeiro has been opening up his house to visitors during the holiday season since 1991. That sure is a lot of Christmases! The Rombeiro Christmas House puts every light display you've seen to shame, and seeing it should be a priority this year.
Decked out with over 140,000 lights, the Rombeiro House is a legend around these parts. The exterior is a mesmerizing array of lovable Christmas characters, flashing lights, and general holiday cheeriness.
However, visitors are also welcome inside the home as well. If you thought the outside was decked out, just wait. The inside is covered with Christmas memorabilia and decor from top to bottom.
They say it takes months to set up The Christmas House every year, and we believe it. Every square inch of the house is completely covered. It's a magical sight that is bound to ignite the Christmas spirit inside of you.
Visitors are welcome to check it out for themselves every day from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm through January 6, 2019. Consider dropping off a donation to the Rombeiros while you're there. You'll find the house located at 34 Devonshire Drive in Novato.
