We suggest starting at the north end of Front Street. It's here you'll find Old Sacramento State Historic Park which features almost entirely all restored buildings from the 19th century, including the famous Big Four Building.
Strolling along the street's old boardwalks, you can't help but feel like you've been swept back in time. Boasting classic Victorian architecture, you could an entire day exploring the modern restaurants, shops, and bars that now house these historic structures.
The street is home to several museums so you can better get to know the history behind this fascinating district. A traditional one-room schoolhouse, the Old Sacramento Schoolhouse Museum is especially quaint and admission is free.
On the south end of the street, you'll be treated to marvelous views of the Tower Bridge, constructed in 1934. This is also where the 1927 historic riverboat the Delta King is docked, where you can enjoy an incredible riverfront meal or even stay overnight.
