You'll find Cascade Park at 420 Cascade Drive, Mill Valley 94941. To get there, take Throckmorton Ave through downtown Mill Valley and continue on Cascade Drive. The trailhead is clearly marked on the right-hand side.
Once setting off from the trailhead, you'll find yourself immediately immersed in a gorgeous forest setting. Bright green ferns, moss-covered boulders, and towering trees can be found everywhere you look. It feels like stepping into a fairytale!
At only a half-mile out-and-back, the trail is perfect for casual hikers and kids. There's very little elevation gain and the trail itself is more like a leisurely stroll through the forest.
Charming wooden bridges and a flowing creek will leave you completely entranced by the mesmerizing atmosphere...and you haven't even gotten to the waterfall yet! There's no bad time of year to enjoy this hike, but keep in mind that the scenery is most lush during the wet season, especially right after it rains.
Just a quarter of a mile after the trail's beginning, the sight of Cascade Falls will come into view. The waterfall plunges about 15 feet into the pool below, and it totally completes the otherworldly setting. The area is shady and there are several benches where you can sit and enjoy the quiet.
