When you’re feeling hungry enough to eat a bear, there’s one restaurant in Northern California that you should definitely visit: Madison Bear Garden. This popular sports bar and restaurant is widely beloved for its decadent burgers, the wide selection of beer, and playful atmosphere. The restaurant’s hefty portions could feed even the largest of appetites, but there’s one burger that should only be attempted by the very hungry and very brave. This burger challenge is downright outrageous and it’s certainly not for the faint of heart!
The world famous Madison Bear Garden has been serving up delicious pub-style eats in Chico since 1977. When it comes to serving up super stacked burgers with style and flair, this place simply can't be beat.
Considered an icon within its community, Madison Bear Garden is famous for its quirky atmosphere along with its mouthwatering menu of food. From the moment you walk in, you'll be mesmerized by the assortment of random decor hanging from the walls and the lively atmosphere.
Although The Bear serves typical pub food, you'll find that each dish is created with the type of quality that you simply wouldn't expect from a bar. Their world-famous burgers truly live up to the hype, and popular varieties include The Bear Burger (Thousand Island, BBQ sauce, lettuce, tomato, and onion), the Singin' the Bleus Burger (Bleu cheese, mayo, and thick-cut bacon), and the Thunder Humper (chili, onions, grated cheddar cheese.)
However, there's one burger that should only be attempted by those with humongous appetites. Known as the Aaron's Passing Fancy Burger Challenge, this monstrosity is not for the weak.
Those who attempt the challenge will be tasked with tackling a stacked burger with four 1/3-pound patties and two 1/4-pound bratwursts, topped with onion rings, cheese, bacon, veggies, and Thousand Island dressing. Challengers only have 30 minutes to finish the entire burger plus a pound of cheese fries!
If this burger challenge sounds utterly ridiculous, it's because it is. However, those who succeed will be granted a free t-shirt, a $30 discount on the meal itself, and a coupon for a free meal to be used in the future. Those who fall to this mighty burger will have to pay the full price ($50.50) and walk away with some damaged pride.
Think you have what it takes to demolish this insane burger? Stop by Madison Bear Garden and try it out! They are open Monday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. and on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m.
