Northern California Has A Brand New Gondola Connecting Two Major Ski Resorts
Sure, Northern California has some theme parks, but in this part of the state our biggest attraction is the incredible nature. In the winter months the Lake Tahoe area draws Californians to its many ski resorts. And now the Olympic Valley is home to the largest ski resort in California thanks to a brand new gondola connecting the resorts.

It takes winter sports lovers from The Village at Palisades Tahoe to Alpine Village– no need to drive from one resort to the other. Now that two of the most popular resorts are connected, visitors have access to 6,000 acres of world class ski and snowboard terrain.

There are 96 cabins that fit eight people per cabin. The gondola travels 1,870 vertical feet from The Village at Palisades base terminal to the KT mid-station. It will operate only during the winter season, weather permitting.

Palisades has more steeps and glades, while Alpine has a "down home vibe" and hidden areas to ski. With the gondola, visitors can ski both areas with ease.

Operational hours are daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. If you miss the gondola and need to get to the other resort, there is a free shuttle service running between 5 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

The tram takes people on a scenic ride from the base of the mountain to the resort at the top called High Camp. At High Camp guests will find several places to grab a bite and drinks, as well as a pool, a roller skating rink (open in the spring and summer), as well as incredible views.

This area is a long time favorite for skiers and people who enjoy the winter season. The Village at Palisades has more than 50 restaurants, bars, and boutiques to enjoy when you're not skiing and snowboarding.
Many Tahoe skiers and snowboarders are loyal to the resorts they frequent each year. Do you ski at Palisades or Alpine? If not, will you visit now that it is the largest ski resort in California?
