What's in the number one spot? California's Redwood Coast. This may not come as a huge surprise for many Northern Californians. Our redwoods are a beloved region of our state and there is no denying their incredible beauty.
Regardless, it's nice to see our lovely redwoods getting some national recognition and ranking as the top place to see in 2018. The recognition couldn't come at a better time.
This year is the 100th anniversary of the Save The Redwoods League. The league has been hard at work protecting and restoring redwood forests since 1918. In honor of the league's centennial, they are offering FREE admission to over 40 parks on the second Saturday of each month.
If you haven't seen the awe-inspiring redwoods yet...now is the time. Their size and beauty is something that must be experienced in person. No photo can do justice to these utterly breathtaking giants.
