In 2002, a devastating fire destroyed the building, but it was rebuilt in just 14 months. The rebuild features a beautiful mahogany bar, a “Sherwood Forest”-themed dining room, and ambient lighting.
Since 2019, the Paige family has owned and operated the restaurant.
The original building that housed Friar Tuck’s Restaurant was built around 1860. After the 2002 fire, it was built using some of the bricks from the original structure. The building looks just as historic as the other charming buildings in downtown Nevada City.
