The waterfall is considered part of Devils Postpile National Monument. It's accessible via a quick and easy 1.5-mile trail. Getting to the waterfall is particularly simply because it's all downhill, but keep in mind that means it's all uphill on the way back.
As you descend down the trail, you'll be led across vast fields of burned down trees. The area is downright stunning, despite the damage that's been done to it.
From here, you'll then enter the Ansel Adams Wilderness. At this point, you'll cross a short and quaint bridge that takes you over a creek. This means you're only a half mile away from the falls.
Soon enough, you'll end up at the viewing platform which provides a picture perfect view of Rainbow Falls below. At 101-feet tall, you're bound to be blown away by its magnificent beauty.
The waterfall boasts multiple areas where the water cascades down into the pool below. The sound of the rushing water combined with the mist in the air is an amazing feeling that just can't be beat.
