Open every year from Memorial Day through Labor Day, Forebay Aquatic Center is the ultimate spot for summer fun. Offering equipment rentals, aquatic camps, and group events, there's truly something for everyone at this awesome destination.
Located in Oroville, the aquatic center is perfect for those looking to get out and have an adventure on the water. Operated by the Feather River Center, the center's ultimate goal is to provide a fun and safe place for Northern Californians to enjoy the area's spectacular natural beauty.
Equipment rentals are available Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Here you can rent a kayak, S.U.P., pedal boat, canoe, raft, or inner tube for an affordable hourly price. After all, having fun in the water shouldn't cost an arm and a leg.
The aquatic center is an especially great resource for families since they offer weekly aquatic camps for ages 8-12. During these camps, kids can learn how to use all types of water equipment including kayaks, canoes, and even sailboats.
The center also hosts a variety of events throughout the summer. The Moonlight Paddles are an especially popular experience. They take place on the evening of the full moon in July, August, September, and October. The 2+ hour paddle typically sells out fast, so it's encouraged to make your reservation well in advance.
Additionally, the area that surrounds Forebay is perfect for spending the day outdoors. A large picnic area provides ample space for families to hang out, and the Brad B. Freeman Memorial Bike Trail provides a unique opportunity to explore the area even further.
Forebay Aquatic Center is a true water wonderland that has something for everyone. Whether you choose to zoom around in a pedal boat, chill out on the sandy beach, or simply paddle around the bay, this place has you covered. Learn more about it here.
