The Aerospace Museum of California is THE place to go to learn about air and space exploration. Founded in 1982 as part of the McClellan Air Force Base, the community rallied to keep the museum open when the Air Force base closed in 2001...and we're so glad they did.
Today, the museum can be found in its own facility on McClellan Park. It boasts a large exhibit hall, classrooms, and a 4-acre air park. The air park is by far one of the museum's most exciting features and it includes all types of aircraft including commercial, private, and military.
There's truly something for everyone at this fascinating destination. Whether you're a student, educator, aerospace enthusiast, or family looking for something unique to entertain the kiddos, this place delivers on all fronts. There's just so much to do and see!
If you've ever wanted to see a rocket engine or wind tunnel firsthand, this is the place to be. The museum is packed with exhibits that focus on important moments or inventions in aviation history.
