Wishek, North Dakota is a small town of almost exactly 1,000 residents. The town is known for its annual sauerkraut festival that has been running for nearly a century, but that’s not the food that people travel hundreds of miles to visit this town for. It does, however, make a good topping for the real star of Wishek. The food that keeps people coming back here for years after they’ve moved away is actually sausage.
