Leah moved to North Dakota when she was 12 years old and has traveled from the Red River Valley to the badlands and many places in between. She loves small-town life and currently enjoys living on a small farm in the ND prairie. She's always had a passion for writing and has participated in novel writing challenges such as NaNoWriMo multiple times. Her favorite part about this job is recognizing small businesses that deserve a boost and seeing the positive affect her articles can have on their traffic, especially in rural areas that might have otherwise gone overlooked.
You have probably heard of, and possibly even seen, the Hollywood Walk of Fame located in… well, Hollywood, California of course. What you probably haven’t heard of is the fact that North Dakota has its own Walk of Fame! With over 100 additions of people famous for many different things that have visited the state, it is like walking down a sidewalk full of legends. Check it out for yourself:
North Dakota's version of the Walk of Fame can be found in the city of Fargo by the visitors center, but that's not where it originally was.
The Walk of Fame was started by a local businessman who ran a print shop in Fargo. He would take a slab of concrete to visiting celebrities, have them make their mark on it, and then lay the slab in the sidewalk in front of his business. Later, it was moved to its current location and most people don't even realize it's there.
You can see over 100 signatures, handprints, and footprints while taking the walk.
And that's not even half of them! The list goes on for quite a ways when it comes to musical folks visiting North Dakota. All different genres and levels of famousness are included.

The walk also has a lot of celebrities known for things other than music and movies. People like Bob Costas, the famous sports announcer, and Bill Gates, of Microsoft fame, are also included on the walk.
Even well-loved Sesame Street characters have permanently imprinted their signatures here.
There are so many well-known names that have been inscribed on Fargo's Walk of Fame that the best way to experience it is taking the walk yourself and seeing how many you recognize.
