You never know what you’ll find while on the road. Discovering new places is just part of the journey, even if they aren’t the kind of places you’d suspect. If you’re taking a long drive on I-29 and happen to pass through Grand Forks, don’t pass up the chance to stop at this truck stop restaurant for an amazing meal.
Stop by this unsuspecting Simonson Travel Center for an amazing meal while you're traveling on I-29. It is located just off the interstate.
Inside the truck stop is the Roadhouse Cafe, a quiet restaurant that recently changed their hours to be open 24/7. Even if you're going through in the middle of the night, you can grab a bite to eat here.
Displays aside, it's the food that makes the Roadhouse Cafe so awesome. They are known for their fantastic breakfast. It's served all day, every day, so no matter when you're craving pancakes, bacon, country fried steak, an omelet, or any of the American breakfast classics, you can have them.
They have delicious skillets and plenty of non-breakfast options, too. Are you a carnivore? Try their burgers and steaks. Maybe you're in the mood for chicken - they have that, too! Soups, salads, and wraps are also available. The menu is seemingly endless.
You definitely don't want to miss their popular carrot cake, either. No matter what you're in the mood for, the Roadhouse Cafe will serve you right and you'll love every bite. You'd never know from the outside that this truck stop had a place so good.
The Roadhouse Cafe is located in the Simonson Travel Center at 4720 Gateway Dr., Grand Forks, ND 58203.
This kind of place is a great example of “never judge a book by its cover.” North Dakota has quite a few surprising hidden gems when it comes to eateries. You’d never expect these unsuspecting restaurants to have great food, and yet they serve up some of the best in the state.
