North Dakota has a reputation for being big fans of Bison. The NDSU Bison win championships pretty much yearly, the world’s “largest” bison Dakota Thunder stands in Jamestown at a towering 26 feet high, and the state’s beautiful Theodore Roosevelt National Park is teeming with hundreds of them roaming the badlands. Did you know there is another place far from the western region of ND to view wild bison herds? That’s right – you don’t have to go out all the way to Medora to see them. Plus, by visiting this particular place you get the added bonus of being in a gorgeous park. Check it out for yourself:
You can visit Sullys Hill National Game Preserve off of ND Highway 57 in St. Michael, North Dakota, about 10 miles south of the city of Devils Lake. For more information about the preserve, click here.
