While living here in North Dakota can be pretty great, sometimes the struggle is all too real. With things like crazy weather and people who think the entire state is a myth, there are issues all of us who call this place home have to deal with sometimes. Here are nine struggles that you can probably relate to if you’re from North Dakota.

1. Hearing people from other places complain about "cold" weather.

2. The constant danger of critters crossing the road.

Whether they be deer, raccoons, pheasants, or the occasional rodent, there always seems to be the chance of encountering an animal crossing the road at the very worst moment.
3. When people mix up North Dakota and South Dakota.

4. Trying to fit Halloween costumes over winter jackets and snow pants.

5. Those pesky summer bugs.

And I'm not just talking about mosquitoes and ticks. Have you ever had a June bug get stuck in your hair? Yeah, it's not fun.
6. Encountering people who forgot North Dakota is even a state.

There are actual people out there with conspiracy theories that the state doesn't exist. I guess we must be living in a void in space, then?
7. Growing up in North Dakota and having every school around you close for snow, EXCEPT yours.

While I'm not complaining too much that the temperature here jumped from 15 degrees to 60 degrees in the last month, maybe a bit of a gradual transition would have been nice. Actually, what am I even saying? Bring on the warm weather!
