Catch a view of this special woodland area in North Dakota from the top of a stairway. There’s no other spot quite like it in the state and it’ll take you on a fun adventure. This gorgeous woodland surrounds part of North Dakota's largest natural lake, Devils Lake. It was originally part of a national park established by former president Theodore Roosevelt. It was known as Sullys Hill National Game Preserve for decades, but in December, 2019, the name was changed back to its traditional Dakota name: White Horse Hill.

The staircase only leads to the top of the hill, so you'll have to go back down once you've taken in the sights. Still, even the trek back is a peaceful, scenic experience.
