Legend has it that she can also be occasionally spotted typing up short bios in the third person, but those rumors are unsubstantiated.
Okay, okay, let’s be real here – every trail in North Dakota is an awesome trail in North Dakota. How lucky are those who live here to be in a place that’s so incredibly scenic? No matter where you roam on any given day, the only sure thing is that wherever you end up, you’ll be in some kind of paradise. There are plenty of trails to explore all over the state that showcases all the brilliance it has to offer; one of our favorites is the Sperati Point (via Achenbach) Trail, which is nestled within Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Take a look, and see why we’re so in love with it:
You'll begin by taking the Achenbach Trail...which you access by taking the beginning of the Caprock Coulee trail.
It's not as complicated as it sounds, and using Google Maps usually leads to more confusion, so honestly, you're best off following the signs that are in place to help you navigate.
The signs will lead you from the trailhead to Achenbach trail, and then from there, you'll break away to an incredible overlook with some breathtaking views.
The Achenbach trail is the longest one in the entire park, but this one - the Sperati Point trail - is short and sweet, even counting the first two trails you needed to utilize to get to it.

This adventure takes you on quite the sightseeing tour despite its short length.
Along the way, you'll encounter Oxbow Overlook and Sperati Point, both of which are truly amazing examples of the majesty of North Dakota. It doesn't get much better than this.
It's famous for its dazzling wildflowers in the spring, so you'll want to keep coming back during different times of year to truly get the full Sperati Point/Achenbach experience.
