Leah moved to North Dakota when she was 12 years old and has traveled from the Red River Valley to the badlands and many places in between. She loves small-town life and currently enjoys living on a small farm in the ND prairie. She's always had a passion for writing and has participated in novel writing challenges such as NaNoWriMo multiple times. Her favorite part about this job is recognizing small businesses that deserve a boost and seeing the positive affect her articles can have on their traffic, especially in rural areas that might have otherwise gone overlooked.
You don’t need to go way out into the boonies to be able to enjoy nature. Even in North Dakota’s most dense city there are spots just begging to be explored. This place is so much more than a city park; it almost feels like you’ve been whisked away into a nature park far from any urban environment. In actuality, it’s right in the middle of one, and conveniently close to everything else while still feeling secluded.
Fargo, North Dakota is the biggest city in the state. With a dense downtown area and sprawling suburbs around it, plus Moorhead just across the river, you might not expect a large nature park to be hiding right in the middle of it all.
It is located right on the scenic Red River and surrounded by trees. You can find trails going through the forests that are great for a stroll, jog, or biking.
The park has many amenities that are great for any outing. Beautiful walkways and fountains are among the picnic shelters, playgrounds, and even campsites.
You can even take full advantage of the outdoor activities with a paddle down the Red River or a night under the stars. Even if you don't have a boat of your own, the park offers rentals.
Lindenwood Park is perfect if you live in Fargo and need a quick getaway into the peace and quiet of a natural setting. Even if you are just passing through the city, it's easy to access it right off of I-94.
