If you feel like getting out this weekend and exploring someplace new, there’s always more beautiful North Dakota to see! You don’t have to plan an extensive trip – instead, why not try one of these quick road trips? They’ll show you some of the best parts of the Peace Garden State and allow you to experience them without being in a rush. Take a look:

The Old Red Old Ten Scenic Byway is a great road trip to take if you'd like to explore the small town scene of North Dakota. It will take you through a ton of small towns on a scenic drive from Mandan to Dickinson, each with their own unique quirks. It doesn't get much more charming than this drive! Out in western North Dakota, the Little Missouri National Grassland encompasses both the North and South Units of the Theodore Roosevelt National Park, plus so much more. There are drives in both units of the park as well as plenty of open road in the rest of the grasslands. They showcase the beautiful painted canyons and rugged terrain. Just don't be surprised if you reach a road block made up of a bison herd while you're taking this drive. They're everywhere over there and sometimes share the road.

By driving through the Red River Valley in North Dakota, you can explore its biggest urban areas in its two largest cities - Fargo and Grand Forks. Plus, there are many other small towns along the way to check out as well. Both of these cities have a lot to offer when it comes to food, attractions, and general fun.

The Des Lacs National Wildlife Refuge and surrounding area is an absolutely stunning place with added perks.
