Camping in North Dakota is always a good time. Believe it or not, despite the deep chill of our occasionally brutal winters, it’s never a bad time to go pitch a tent – or reserve a cabin, get a yurt, you know… whatever you’re into. Should you be feeling the need to get out and enjoy the great outdoors, you’re in luck: turns out, our state parks feature year-round camping, rain or shine, snow or ice. My favorite year-round campground in North Dakota is tough to pin down, to say the least – there are so many options! But, for now, let’s just check out Cross Ranch State Park, one of the best year-round campgrounds in the whole state.

It's stunningly beautiful all year, with vibrant colors in the summer and fall and a white wonderland to look forward to in the winter. Despite the cold, it's a lovely place to camp.
And camp you may: winter camping at Cross Ranch State Park is actually quite popular, thanks to the ease with which one can do it.

Perhaps better still, there are two campgrounds within the park (and some other delights, too!). Whether you're a camper or a glampers, there's a little something around here for you.

It's like... a step above traditional tent camping but below a hotel. There's something so outrageously cozy about them, especially when there's a chill in the air.
