Tori Jane is a storm chaser, writer, photographer, and the village idiot - in that order. When she's not out and about dancing with the meanest storms on planet Earth for funsies she can be found wandering, shooting landscapes, writing, editing photos, and otherwise up to no good. Legend has it that she can also be occasionally spotted typing up short bios in the third person, but those rumors are unsubstantiated.
Camping in North Dakota is always a good time. Believe it or not, despite the deep chill of our occasionally brutal winters, it’s never a bad time to go pitch a tent – or reserve a cabin, get a yurt, you know… whatever you’re into. Should you be feeling the need to get out and enjoy the great outdoors, you’re in luck: turns out, our state parks feature year-round camping, rain or shine, snow or ice. My favorite year-round campground in North Dakota is tough to pin down, to say the least – there are so many options! But, for now, let’s just check out Cross Ranch State Park, one of the best year-round campgrounds in the whole state.
For more information (and to reserve your campsite), be sure to check out the official North Dakota Parks and Rec website. And great news: this isn’t even the only year-round campground in North Dakota. It’s an amazing world out there – better go out and explore!
If camping isn’t your thing but you want to explore our state parks all the same, I get it – check out some of the options from our friends at VRBO instead. What are your favorite year-round campground in North Dakota? Let me know.
