North Dakota has a rich heritage in German and Germans-from-Russia. Nearly half of the state’s population is of German descent, so it’s no surprise that there are quite a few Oktoberfests being held across the state in the coming weeks. From the beer to the bratwurst and even the wiener dogs, these events are a blast and they only come around once a year. Put on your lederhosen, grab a stein of beer, and head out to these fun festivals:
The lovely town of Ashley, ND is hosting its 4th annual Oktoberfest on October 6, 2018. There will be lots of German food, a dance, and you can pick up a special hat and mug to commemorate the occasion.

North Dakota's biggest city holds an annual Oktoberfest that's packed with fun, and this year will be no different. Held in downtown Fargo, lots of vendors, activities, and plenty of beer will be available. From a pub crawl to the adorable "Running of the Wieners" dachshund dog race, you're in for a German treat.

Jamestown, ND's Oktoberfest is being hosted by The Arts Center in The Hansen Arts Park this year on September 15. There is plenty of beer, bratwurst, and fun to be had all day. Live music, games and activities will also be occurring throughout the festival.

Take part in Mandan's annual Oktoberfest at Dykshoorn Park for beer, food, live music, and tons of general German fun. This event is open for all ages and there are kids games at noon, as well. It's great for the whole family!

Enjoy family fun all day long at Hankinson, ND's annual Oktoberfest. This day will be absolutely packed. There will be german food (including kuchen), live music, vendors and craft fair, contests, and even a fireworks display to finish it all off with a bang. It doesn't get much better!
