This unusual spot is located near Cadbury, North Dakota. It's meant to be a modern, 21st century Stonehenge. The large granite pillars are more than just an interesting art piece - they also serve as a working solar calendar.

Also known as the pyramid on the prairie, this abandoned military relic near Nekoma, North Dakota is one of the most unusual sites you'll see in the state. After it was built in 1975, it was used for less than a year before being shut down. Most of the facility was flooded, destroyed, or removed, but this towering concrete pyramid still remains. It's an eerie site and there is no other thing quite like it.

Speaking of relics of the past, this lonely ridge not far outside of Napoleon, North Dakota is the final resting place of many. Old threshing machines that have long since become defunct and broken down are scattered in a trail up the ridge by the landowners, the Grenz family. You are welcomed to walk along these huge, battered beasts and see the view from the top. It's quite the sight, and one that you won't see anywhere else.

One of the state's most unique parks is located in the capital city of Bismarck. It's situated right next to the Missouri River for some impressive views and great walking paths, but it has some unusual aspects that make it special. It's called the Keelboat Park for the famous explorer duo Lewis and Clark's travels in a keelboat. There is a recreation of one at the park you can climb into and learn about. There are also sculptures not only of the explorers and the other most important member of their party, Sakakawea, but of some pretty weird things. Made by the same person as the sculptures, Gary Greff, this castle is kind of unusual. It is actually a renovated building that was once a school. Now it is a hotel with castle walls, a drawbridge, a medieval tavern, and suits of armor in the halls. It's the only castle you can stay at in North Dakota, and it will certainly be an unforgettable stay.
