Her favorite part about this job is recognizing small businesses that deserve a boost and seeing the positive affect her articles can have on their traffic, especially in rural areas that might have otherwise gone overlooked.
When people think of North Dakota’s big cities, it’s usually the top three that come to mind. Fargo, of course, and the capital city of Bismarck, then the next largest city of Grand Forks. These cities are bustling and full of great things to see, but what people seem to forget is that there is another large city trailing these three in size that is just as awesome. In fact, many people would even call it magical. This city tends to be overlooked by visitors, and that’s a crime considering how unique and fun it is. Need some convincing? Take a look:
The fascinating town, known as the "Magic City," of Minot, North Dakota is one of the most criminally overlooked cities. It has the history, attractions, and beautiful attributes that should put it at the top of people's favorite destinations.
It is North Dakota's fourth largest city and was founded in 1886 and got its nickname of the "Magic City" when it exploded in population growth back then. From then on, it has been shaped into an amazing place to live and visit.
Many other businesses take pride in being a part of Minot's quirky and fun characteristics, like the fact you can find many large horse statues throughout the city painted in many different colors and patterns.
Not only does Minot have those attributes, but it also has gorgeous architecture in places like this church and a fascinating amount of history to explore through the multiple museums in town.
Minot is also home to attractions such as the Roosevelt Park Zoo and also the stunning Scandinavian Heritage Park, which includes an unusual Gol Stave Church, giant dala horse, and so much more.
To top it all off, the Magic City has quite a few pockets of truly beautiful scenery - and it's surrounded by even more. It doesn't get much better when you wrap it all together into one awesome place! Next time you want to visit a city, ask yourself - why not Minot?
