Recently, 24/7 Wall St. made a list of the very best places in the United States to live. They took different types of data and combined them all together to score different cities. Out of the top 50, there were four North Dakota cities on the list! This may come as little surprise to many of us – it is pretty great here, after all – but even then, you may not have expected that the highest-ranked of our cities to make the list was in second. Here is the city that was named the very best place in the Peace Garden State to live, and among the top cities of the entire country to live:
The North Dakota city that rose above 48 others around the country in a 50 city list is located very close to its heart. In fact, it happens to be right across the Missouri River from the capital city. That's right: it's Mandan!
Mandan, North Dakota is the state's 7th largest city with a population of a bit over 22,000. It was founded in 1879 and has ties to lots of the state's history.
Several factors played into Mandan being named the second-best city in the entire country to live in. The list includes things like low cost of living, near non-existent unemployment rate, and exceptionally low crime.
Mandan is also considered an awesome place for budding businesses, not only by 24/7 Wall St. but also publications like Forbes, where it has been in the top five smaller cities for business and careers multiple times, and in CNN Money's top 100 places to live.
The city "where the west begins," its motto, has great amenities for everyone living there. There are plenty of restaurants, shopping opportunities, entertainment, and great public spaces for everyone to enjoy.
Mandan even has one of North Dakota's most popular state parks, Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park. It is loaded with natural beauty and fascinating history. It even has the only trolley ride in all of the state!
North Dakota is a place many people don’t know much about but one that has some of the best cities, coolest attractions, and important roles in America. The entire country should be thankful for this state, and here is why.
