Fall is right upon us here in North Dakota, and that means it’s almost time for one of the funnest, most classic parts of the season that is just pure fun: the corn maze. Various corn mazes are held all over the state, but if you want to experience the enjoyment of a corn maze plus tons of other fun fall activities, you’ll definitely want to head over to this festival in a small town in ND:
The Maddock Rural Renaissance Festival is a fantastically fun fall festival in a small town with a population just below 400. This year will be its 9th year and it will be held from September 21-23, 2018.
Each year the design and theme is a bit different, and this year it depicts a lovely scene of a farm. Are you ready to take it on and get lost in the maize?
Speaking of hay bales, you'll likely see a lot of colorful and creative hay bales for the bale decorating contest. Bales of all shapes, sizes, colors, and configurations will be set up to see which is the best and they're delightful to see.
Along with corn mazes and hay bales, the rural renaissance festival has carriage and horse rides, live music and entertainment, lots of food and craft vendors, a flea market, and historical sites and museums open to explore.
Food is also a big part of the festival. A chili cook-off will take place and a pancake breakfast, too. It's a fall extravaganza that you don't want to miss!
The festival will be taking place all over the town. Maddock is located about 50 minutes southwest of Devils Lake, ND. For more information about this event, click here.
