Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park is perfect for a hike any day, but it's exceptionally beautiful during sunrises and sunsets. If you're feeling like getting up early, head over to the park on Leap Day, 2020, and you can take part in a special event.
Starting at 6:30 AM on Saturday, February 29, 2020, there will be a hike up to the top of the Infantry Post Hill to see the sunrise over the Missouri River roughly an hour later.
Hikers don't need to pay extra for the event but will need a park pass as usual, which is $7 per vehicle. Remember to bundle up before setting off on this fun and refreshing trail. The hike is about 1.5 miles long.
At the top of the hill, you'll get a fantastic view of the river and other parts of the park, like the On-A-Slant Village. The sun is set to rise at 7:23 AM and will make the river valley glow. You'll definitely want to bring your camera for this event, as the sight will be spectacular.
