September is almost here and that means the harvest is nearly upon us North Dakotans. Many small towns celebrate the harvest in various ways such as festivals, and this particular town has a great one. Hazen, North Dakota. This charming small town has a population of just under 2,400 people. It's located in Mercer County a little way south of Lake Sakakawea and is quiet most of the year.
Parades, vendors, free feeds, activities, and so much more will be going on from September 4th to September 8th, 2019. The whole community comes together for a fun celebration of the town.
You can stroll through a classic car show, let the kids play on fun inflatables, watch live entertainment, and take part in a street dance, among many other things. The schedule is packed by the minute with things to do all around town.
One of the most fun parts is the annual dachshund, or wiener dog, race. Watch the adorable, short-legged long dogs gallop across the green to victory. It's a blast every year!
Don't forget about fun activities like a cornhole tournament, a carnival, and plenty of food like hot dogs, fresh-squeezed lemonade, and even a fleischkuekle feed. The list doesn't seem to end — Hazen's Harvestfest is just loaded with stuff and you don't want to miss out.
