There’s no better place to be in North Dakota during the summer than by the lake. Sure, you could go to some of the popular lake destinations in the state like Lake Sakakawea, Devils Lake, or Lake Metigoshe, but there are other beautiful places for a day trip that are totally underrated. Harmon Lake should be at the top of your list of lakes to check out this summer. It is located near Mandan, North Dakota and has just about everything you could want at a fantastic summer destination.
Tucked away in lush, green hills, Harmon Lake has great views and all the amenities of a recreation area. Picnic shelters, campgrounds, trails, playgrounds, a boat ramp, and fishing pier are just a handful of what it has to offer.
Harmon Lake is also very popular with mountain bikers as it has just over 13 miles of trail across the rolling hills around the lake. What a beautiful experience!
Along with stunning nature, wildlife, and a peaceful and serene setting, you really can't go wrong with a day trip to this lake. It is totally underrated!
