This is a newer festival that focuses on the joys of winter among all our complaints and dreams of warmer temperatures. Including activities like snow golf, a cardboard sled race, hot cocoa cook off, and ice skating costume contests, just to name a few. It has all the reasons to love winter!

This is the biggest Scandinavian festival in the country and has been running for 39 years! With many of us in North Dakota having Scandinavian ancestry, it gives us a chance to celebrate our heritage in this huge festival, or just go to enjoy everything it has to offer. Food, entertainment, and just pure immersive Scandinavian fun - whether you have Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish, or Icelandic family -EVERYONE should go at least once! Even if you aren't even a little bit Scandinavian.

For those of us that aren't of Scandinavian descent and are part of North Dakota's other largest demographic of German, there's Oktoberfest. Celebrate German heritage with activities from each location that include wiener dog races, authentic German cuisine, beer tasting, beer gardens, and more beer!

The Fargo Film Festival is THE best place to check out all types of film that you wouldn't be able to see normally anywhere else. Held in the amazing Fargo Theatre and showcasing work from local filmmakers, it is a MUST see for everyone who gets a chance to go.

This is the oldest running agriculture show in the state, beginning way back in 1937. With hundreds of vendors and exhibitors, PRCA rodeo performances, live music, livestock shows, and much, much more, there's something for everyone. There is TONS to do and so much to see!

We live in the 4th windiest state in the country, so why not harness some of that wind to fly some kites with your family in this fun festival? There are kite makers, professional and stunt kite fliers, and other demonstrations at the festival, but the best part is enjoying flying your own kites - all kites are allowed!

Shop for handmade crafts, see live music, and even see art being created before your eyes during their "Art in Action" event. This is a GREAT opportunity to see what North Dakota has to offer in the arts - it's fun for everyone!

Everyone can have a blast at this festival held annually in mid-July. Live entertainment, 4H and FFA events, a big carnival, and plenty of agriculture events mean there's a little something for everyone and it brings out the fun in anyone. There are all types of classic carnival rides for all ages and plenty of other things being showcased that there's no way you won't be smiling the whole time!
