Leah moved to North Dakota when she was 12 years old and has traveled from the Red River Valley to the badlands and many places in between. She loves small-town life and currently enjoys living on a small farm in the ND prairie. She's always had a passion for writing and has participated in novel writing challenges such as NaNoWriMo multiple times. Her favorite part about this job is recognizing small businesses that deserve a boost and seeing the positive affect her articles can have on their traffic, especially in rural areas that might have otherwise gone overlooked.
Grab a spectacular view of North Dakota’s capital city as well as enjoy a stroll through a garden at this special park. Whether you’re going alone for some peace and quiet or bringing friends or family for a scenic picnic, it’s great for any occasion. Plus, it holds some interesting history. Take a look for yourself:
Chief Looking's Village and Pioneer Park are located right at one of the prettiest views of Bismarck, North Dakota. When this is the sight you see when sitting on a park bench, you know you're someplace great.
This area was originally the site of a Mandan earth lodge village. Important archeological digs were carried out here to learn and preserve the history of the tribe and the area.
The fall is especially pretty, with the forests surrounding the river changing into an incredible array of color. Whether you take the trails, just enjoy the view, or explore the history of the park - it's definitely worth the visit.
