Leah moved to North Dakota when she was 12 years old and has traveled from the Red River Valley to the badlands and many places in between. She loves small-town life and currently enjoys living on a small farm in the ND prairie. She's always had a passion for writing and has participated in novel writing challenges such as NaNoWriMo multiple times. Her favorite part about this job is recognizing small businesses that deserve a boost and seeing the positive affect her articles can have on their traffic, especially in rural areas that might have otherwise gone overlooked.
Halloween has passed and all the stores are flooded with Christmas merchandise. Instead of being overwhelmed by aisles upon aisles of wrapping paper, wreaths, and whatnot, you can have a retro shopping experience in a neat old store. This vintage shop is located in a town made for nostalgia, and they have quite the selection of holiday things. Whether you go to get decorations or a gift, they’ll have something unique you might love.
Buckstop Junction is more than just a historic tourist attraction. While you can visit for the many neat, restored historic buildings brought in from around North Dakota, you can also go to do some shopping.
The Vintage Shoppe, located in Buckstop Junction's visitor center, is open on weekends and has an entire section of "Christmas Past." You'll find plenty of old, vintage ornaments, gifts, and more for the holidays.
The shop is an antique store full of treasures. The old Christmas decorations are just the start. With plenty of cool, retro things, there are gifts for everyone here that you won't find in normal stores.
From jewelry to clothing, dollhouses to collectibles, and of course all the cute decor from decades prior, you could easily spend a whole day here browsing.
Along with all the antiques, the Vintage Shoppe also features handmade crafts and other items from local artists to add some true North Dakota flair to your decked halls and gifts.
Make sure to visit Buckstop Junction for their special holiday event, too, where they host sleigh rides and Santa pays the town a visit. For 2019, this will be happening on December 7th. It's great fun for the whole family.
The Vintage Shoppe is open on weekends at the same time the Visitor Center is open. You can learn more by visiting their website. Where is your favorite place to shop for the holidays?
