Leah moved to North Dakota when she was 12 years old and has traveled from the Red River Valley to the badlands and many places in between. She loves small-town life and currently enjoys living on a small farm in the ND prairie. She's always had a passion for writing and has participated in novel writing challenges such as NaNoWriMo multiple times. Her favorite part about this job is recognizing small businesses that deserve a boost and seeing the positive affect her articles can have on their traffic, especially in rural areas that might have otherwise gone overlooked.
If you’re up for a bit of a climb, you can be treated to one of the most beautiful views in North Dakota. This free-to-visit park has one of the tallest trails in the state, heading right up a hill, with a rewarding panoramic sight at the very top. It’s open year-round so that no matter when you visit, you’ll be in for a memorable experience. Don’t forget to bring your camera for this one!
Visit the beautiful White Horse Hill National Game Preserve in North Dakota. This place was once one of the United States' national parks but is now a free-to-visit, 1,600-acre preserve that's stunning year-round.
The top of the hill has an observation area, allowing visitors to look out over the forests and prairie meadows that make up the preserve, as well as a view of Devils Lake. This is North Dakota's largest natural lake, and you can see across it to the land far off on the other side from here.
Since it's a game preserve, this area is heavily populated with animals like bison, elk, deer, prairie dogs, and more, so you can expect to see some when you visit.
