The North Carolina Mountain Campground That Families Return To Year After Year

If you’re like most camping enthusiasts, then the start of any new season brings hopes for travel and, in particular, visiting some of the same old stomping grounds in which you camp each year – while also venturing into some fresh, new places too.
And whether it's just you, or you have a whole entourage (kids and family) along, there is a can't-miss adventure awaiting the whole crew in this campground in the mountains of North Carolina.
Especially for young kids... Yogi in the Smokies, located in Cherokee, North Carolina, is a particularly fun time with loads of activities (some arae organized and other are just naturally discovered).
Kids — and kids at heart — can't get enough of the Yogi Bear sightings. And for once, you'll encounter a bear in the woods in North Carolina — and not have to be afraid!
Other fun activities for the entire family include play time on the gently moving, boulder-infused creek that runs through the campground. Hours and hours of fun can be found in catching and releasing the various creatures found in and around a healthy creekbed!
For those moments when the rain dictates an indoor activity, there's no need to go sit in the tent or camper. Not at this fun campground. Just head over to the activity center where all sorts of fun options await to help you (and the kids) kill some time waiting for the storm to pass.
In season, you can enjoy the heated pool, which may feel especially refreshing during the chilly early months of the fall season.
Time your trip just right so that you can enjoy a wagon ride around the park with Yogi himself. What child wouldn't love a family activity where Yogi the Bear is the guest of honor?
Since the 'real' Yogi is a very busy bear and can't always be doing meet and greets with campers (he has to eat and sleep and probably visit people in need part of the time... ) you'll find Yogi 'stand-ins' all throughout this fun park. And while the real Yogi is fun, you (or the kids) can't climb all over him like you can the stand-ins.
Camping is a wonderful activity for couples and families and groups of people to gather in the great outdoors and reconnect with each other while also reconnecting with nature. The campsites at Yogi in the Smokies include deluxe 40 and 50 AMP full-hookup RV sites, water and electric sites for other camper vehicles, and primitive tent sites that have a little more privacy.
Additionally, if you just prefer a rustic cabin experience, you'll find those at this keen campground too. They range in size from being able to accommodate from 4 to 8 people. Some are even located right along the picturesque creek.
Yogi in the Smokies is open year-round, and could make an unforgettable holiday memory if you're seeking a family adventure this holiday season.
