Most people wouldn’t expect a big public garden to be located at what looks like a regular colonial home on a regular suburban street. But it is. And pulling up to this urban sanctuary is like something from a dream.
Wing Haven Gardens is located in two garden spaces on the same street. Enter via the foundation office at 260 Ridgewood Ave., Charlotte, NC 29209. A single admission fee includes entry into both of these historic gardens.
Wing Haven Gardens are open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m. The cost is a mere $10 for adults and children age 10 and over. Children under 10 are admitted for free. Admission allows access to both Wing Haven Garden & Bird Sanctuary, as well as The Elizabeth Lawrence House & Garden. Private and group tours are available if arranged in advance. Learn more on the official website of Wing Haven Gardens and on their Facebook page.
