Reconnect with nature in eastern North Carolina with a visit to the stunning Wilson Botanical Gardens in Wilson. Here, you’ll be able to stroll through 11 acres of cultured gardens – 14 of them, actually – that are themed and beautiful. Plus, WBG also has an arboretum. Let’s take a look:
Found at the Wilson County Agricultural Center, the Wilson Botanical Garden is an absolute delight. And not only is it open 365 days a year, but admission is also free!
Walk through a variety of themed gardens including a pond garden (seen above), an ornamental grasses and daylilies garden, native plants garden, and many more.
And don't forget to seek out the Native Plants Garden. If you're from North Carolina, then you probably already know the Venus Flytrap is indigenous to the Tar Heel State.
Throughout the year, a number of events take place, like their signature Halloween Treats event, Wilson Winter Lights at Christmas, and monthly Garden Talks. You can also schedule to have your kid's birthday party at the treehouse in the Children's Secret Garden.
