It may not be Thursday, be we’re throwing back to the early 1900s with this series of vintage photos taken in North Carolina during that era. While you may be surprised at some of these, we’re sure your parents, or grandparents, would definitely relate and enjoy a walk down memory lane.Take a look:
1. Wrightsville Beach, c.1925. We love how it looks like one big ice cream social at the beach that day.
2. A 1903 baptism in Wake County. Friends and congregation members gather around to witness the occasion.
3. Morganton in 1905 with a horse-drawn carriage on the snow-covered street.
4. A snowy Fayetteville Street looking toward the Capitol in downtown Raleigh, c.1920.
5. Edith Vanderbilt, widow of George Vanderbilt, was president of the 1921 state fair. She's shown here riding around the fairgrounds on a firetruck. (She's seated up front, next to the driver.)
6. Two lovely ladies out for a buggy ride in 1912. Pictured are Cornelia Adelaide Everhart and Adelaide Everhart. The North Carolina location is unknown.
7. Somewhere on the Neuse River in North Carolina, date unknown. Love that wooden canoe!
8. The Wilmington-Wrightsville Beach Causeway, circa 1930.
9. The Lumina Pavilion at Wrightsville Beach with tourists enjoying the day. c.1912.
10. Busy Rockingham, with cars lining both sides of the street in 1924.
11. A young boy drives a goat cart in this c.1937 photo taken in North Carolina. (And he's so adorable!)
12. The German POW camp that was located in Hot Springs during WWI. Photo, c.1917.
13. The fishing pier in Morehead City, c.1910.
14. The 1916 construction site of the U.S. Post Office in Kinston. It was quite an undertaking without all the modern digging equipment we have today.
15. Motorcycle riders posing for a photo in front of some billboards outside of Durham, c.1920.
16. North Carolina's Mount Morrow State Park. This photo was taken in the 1920s. It certainly looks different today!
