Under Brown Mountain Lights the Beast of Blandenboro wanders this magical land where lighthouses shine on kingdoms only accessible by ferries. A Lost Colony of legends and pirates revealed in historical sites and majestic mountains with views that make us weep. The home of handmade sculptures and scrumptious cuisine. North Carolina leaves this long-time writer and artist breathless with endless surprises, including the unlikely warmth a winter walk on the beach can bring.
There are many amazing small towns in North Carolina, and we look forward to visiting them all! One of our favorites for a weekend adventure is the charming town of Cashiers. You’ll find plenty to see and things to do in Cashiers, NC. In fact, the 700 or so residents who get to experience it every day will surely tell you that a weekend getaway in Cashiers, North Carolina, is most definitely worth your while. Let’s discover some of the cool adventures this sweet town has to offer.
Get there early and start your day out with some gorgeous waterfalls. With very little effort, the 0.2-mile out-and-back trail to Silver Run Falls is located off N.C. Route 107, 4.1 miles south of Cashiers. The big payoff is a 30-foot spill into a pool of water where you can swim. And while you're there, visit Coyote Falls right down the road, and Whitewater Falls is also in the area.
