Sky Top Orchard: North Carolina's Orchard In The Sky Is Positively Fun For The Whole Family

If you love picking your own fruit at u-pick orchards (who doesn’t?) in Western North Carolina each year, then you’ll love this orchard in the sky with much more to do and see than ordinary u-pick orchards. Check it out below – and then plan to check it out in person!

Sky Top Orchards, located on the very tippy-top of a mountain near Flat Rock, takes an ordinary u-pick experience (which is already fun) and cranks it up to the next level, creating a fun-filled full day of adventure the entire family will enjoy.

Just like at every other u-pick orchard, you can grab a basket and go in search of the perfect fruit to bring home from Sky Top.

Or, you can stop by and simply pick up a bag all set to go. But why leave yet, when there's so much fun still to be had?!

To start with, there is an animal barn. And where there is a barn with a sign that says "Animal Barn," you can bet there are animals nearby. And you'd be correct! You'll find sheep, goats, chickens, turkeys and peacocks in the barnyard — all waiting to be lavished with attention.

But wait, you're not finished yet in creating memories the kids will cherish forever. Take 'em on a hayride. With views like these you're sure to love it too!

After, go for a walk in the bamboo forest. Be sure you work up an appetite...

You'll have plenty of homemade apple cider donuts to enjoy while at Sky Top. With all the fun you're having, you'll love every sweet morsel.

In addition to the orchards (which are pretty spectacular with the long-range mountain views), Sky Top also has a children's playground, complete with picnic tables if you want to spend the entire day and have a picnic.

You’ll find a multitude of u-pick orchards in Western North Carolina, but you won’t find many with this view and all of these fun added adventures to help create lasting memories for the entire family!

The 2018 season begins in August. Sky Top Orchard is located on Pinnacle Mountain Road, seven miles south of Hendersonville.
