The Shatley Springs Inn and Restaurant is located on a tiny little offshoot dirt and gravel road. You get there by taking NC-16 from just north of Jefferson enroute to the Virginia state line, and then by forking left onto Shatley Springs Road. It really is way out in the country.
For well over a century, folks have touted the healing properties of the water from Shatley Springs. In 1890, Martin Shatley was the first to spread the word after he experienced his own miracle from drinking the water here.
We're not sure if that's true, but you can bet your plate will be overflowing with goodness. The portion sizes are notoriously hearty! And the food is always delicious and good.
There's a unique flair to this unassuming little country restaurant which also has other assorted things to do. In season, you'll find a fruit stand as well as live music playing from the band stand.
The same unassuming quirkiness found outside, flows neatly into the decor found inside this eatery. It's super clean and tidy, and you definitely won't get bored in the reception area.
