We write about many outdoor resorts with exciting amenities meant to thrill, but sometimes a trip to one of the most remote state parks in North Carolina is in order. Singletary Lake State Park in North Carolina, near Kelly, offers just the right amount of soothing quiet on its remote 649 acres. This peaceful retreat has pretty trails, rustic cabins, and a picturesque pier extending on the 572-acre natural lake. Enjoy some much-needed time to look within at this lovely, wild space.
