Whether you spell it BBQ or Bar-B-Que, that adrenaline rush is still the same when you think about sinking your teeth into the mouthwatering goodness we, as North Carolinians, were raised on. Good BBQ is all around us, but exceptional BBQ is another story altogether. That’s why, when we find BBQ that good, it can become a near obsession.
Phil's Bar-B-Que Pit in Black Mountain is just that good.
Phil's pit cooks their tender and flavorful meats and the difference is clearly evident once you get your heaping helping of BBQ and accompanying sides. Once you arrive, pick a seat, grab a menu and then pop up to the counter to order. They'll call you when it's ready... What will it be? Pulled pork, or something else?

Prefer a full or half rack of pit-cooked ribs? They have 'em, and they're worth how ever long you had to drive to get at them.
Some folks just can't decide what to get, so Phil's has a sampler plate overflowing with your three choices and two sides. It's really more food than the average person can put away in one meal. (Which means if you've traveled more than an hour to get here, you should probably bring a small cooler for your leftovers!)
Most people love that Phil's is a no-frills, come-as-you-are kind of place. Wear what you're comfortable in, and bring an extra ball cap. SOME people love Phil's so much they want to leave a little part of themselves behind. You can't help but see the enormous cap collection neatly arranged on the ceiling at Phils!
Or the OTHER cap collection over at the bar, where bottle caps have become synonymous with wallpaper!
