Under Brown Mountain Lights the Beast of Blandenboro wanders this magical land where lighthouses shine on kingdoms only accessible by ferries. North Carolina leaves this long-time writer and artist breathless with endless surprises, including the unlikely warmth a winter walk on the beach can bring.
Folks who live there know that Davidson is the most peaceful place to live in North Carolina. With a little more than 15,000 residents, eight violent crimes per 1,000 inhabitants occurred in 2019, according to the FBI Crime Report. But what else makes a town harmonious? And it’s home to the lovely liberal arts Davidson College, bringing diverse cultural events from art to theater, and probably someone you know and love on the stage. It is also a suburb of Charlotte, meaning it’s only a half-hour away from all of the benefits the Queen City brings. Let’s take a look at this pretty town.
