One Of America's Most Haunted Trails Is Right Here In North Carolina And You Won't Want To Hike It Alone
Most people have never heard of the Devil’s Tramping Ground in North Carolina. It’s located not far from the side of the road in rural southwestern Chatham County and it is, without a doubt, one of America’s most haunted trails.

It begins with a very short hike from a small pull off on the lonely country road aptly named Devils Tramping Ground Road. From here, many visitors feel the effects of the Devil's Tramping Ground the moment they step foot outside their vehicle.

Around the perimeter of this creepy circle is still another trail. It's a worn footpath you won't want to walk. According to local folklore about this bizarre place, the devil himself rises up and walks this trail/path at night and thinks up horrible ways in which to run people's lives.

More than one visitor has left a holy mark upon the trees surrounding the circle, but it doesn't seem to deter the unholy myth or the visits from the devil.

Some believe the devil lures them to sleep with lullabies. It's said that anyone who has spent the night within the circle wakes up miles away from where they fell asleep — and many are deemed to be insane after the attempt.

Additionally, anything that's left inside the circle mysteriously disappears (or gets moved) by morning. In the above photo, it appears someone has poured a white substance meant to be a barrier of protection around the inside of the circle.
