The hike begins in Gorges State Park at the Grassy Ridge Parking area, which is approximately a 2-mile drive from the park entrance.

As you can see, the trail is well-maintained and the falls are epic. It is recommended to use walking sticks to help you through some of the steeper areas and stairs you will encounter.
Follow the orange circles until you reach Pisgah National Forest, and it's about 1.5 miles to the 150-foot breathtaking Rainbow Falls.

This downhill portion has a creek crossing that might be wet and muddy, so dress appropriately.
And just a quarter-mile upstream gives you this interesting cascade Turtleback Falls, aka Umbrella Falls, that actually sits in Pisgah National Forest.
