Some of the most popular trails rated as “easy” include the beautiful Triple Falls Trail, located within DuPont State Recreational Forest. The Max Patch Loop is also super easy and super photogenic, so make sure to bring a camera! Also, the Craggy Pinnacle Trail is great, though it is seasonal, so make sure to check for any closures before you head out.

The Mount Mitchell Summit Trail at the Mount Mitchell State Park is another excellent trail for kids. We also really like the Whitewater Falls Overlook Trail, which will take your family to yet another incredible waterfall.
