Time your visit to be on hand each day at 11 a.m. or 3 p.m. and you'll witness even more magic when the center's Lepidopteris releases even more butterflies into the house.
In addition to more than 250 species of tropical plants that make up this lush butterfly environment, the house is also home to a variety of exotic birds that help keep the pest population within the butterfly house low.
Magic Wings Butterfly House is open year-round from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Museum of Life and Science In Durham. Admission to the museum covers your admission for the butterfly house too.
